The Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies both dispatched 100 Win Division rivals in the Divisional Series to advance to the NLCS. The DBacks easily swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers without ever trailing in the 3 Game set. The Phillies in almost an exact replica of last year were able to defeat the Atlanta Braves in 4 Games.Both teams have had multiple days off and the ability to get their teams rest and rotations in order.
From an odds perspective I think there is some great value in this NLCS Matchup and most of the value does swing towards the Phillies. Rob Thomson deserves a lot of credit for what he has done with this ballclub taking over more than a year and a half ago. His ability to work the bullpen in the Braves Series showed that he has the trust and ability to put his guys in any situation like bringing in the closer in the 7th Inning. The Phillies at -178 on FanDuel currently is good value to me but at the same time I think we can do a little better. I personally believe that the Phillies will be able beat the Diamondbacks before this thing goes the distance and will be looking to play them -1.5 Games.
