Yesterday, it was announced that Charles Bediako was suing the NCAA in an attempt to regain eligibility for the remainder of the 2025–26 season. Today, a judge granted him a temporary restraining order, making him eligible to play.
To put this into perspective, Bediako is 23 years old, and last played college basketball at Alabama during the 2022–23 season. After that year, he declared for the NBA Draft, went undrafted, and has since played for three different NBA G League teams.
According to Bediako’s attorneys: “When the NCAA recently began to reinstate players with G League experience—and even players who had entered and been selected in the NBA Draft Mr. Bediako saw this as a chance to right a decision he had regretted over the past three years.”
The college game that we all once loved, because the Sports were actually played by College Athletes, not ex-pros, is slowly dying because of a lack of leadership and structure from the NCAA.
This development immediately impacted the market, as FanDuel moved the odds from +4000 to +3000 on the Tides title odds following the news of Bediako’s eligibility. New users can place this bet on FanDuel Sportsbook and take advantage of a Bet $5, Get $300 in bonus bets if their first wager wins.
