LaMelo Ball delivered one of the wildest nights of the NBA season one that had everything from a clutch game-winner to controversy that’s going to be talked about for a while.

With the game on the line, Ball took over late, hitting a cold-blooded game-winner to seal it for the Charlotte Hornets. It was the perfect response after committing one of the worst turnovers you’ll see right before his game winner. Ball finished just 12-31 from the field and 2-16 from three, but when it mattered most, he delivered the biggest shot of the night.

The game wasn’t without drama. Ball was involved in a play that resulted in Bam Adebayo going down with an injury, immediately drawing attention. After the game, Erik Spoelstra didn’t hold back, saying, “I don't think it's cute, I don't think it's funny, it's a dangerous play… He should be penalized for that… Somebody's got to see that. He should've been thrown out of the game for that.”

Then things took an even stranger turn after the final buzzer. In a moment that quickly went viral, Ball appeared to punch the Hornets’ mascot during the postgame celebration. Whether it was adrenaline or just a poorly timed accident, it only added to the chaos of an already unforgettable night.

Now, the Hornets sit one game away from the playoffs and will face the loser of the matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Orlando Magic for a chance to complete one of the most impressive turnarounds in recent NBA history. A $100 bet on the Charlotte Hornets at the beginning of the season on DraftKings to win the Finals is now worth $1,236.
