The Miami Heat were one Jimmy Butler three pointer away in Game 7 from being the Eastern Conference representative in last years NBA finals and are seeking revenge in 2023. Despite such a close series, the Heat remain heavy underdogs after making a run from the play-in game all the way here.
As you can tell by the chart, value of a Heat future took a nosedive, when they looked lost during the middle of the season. Heading into March and April when there was a realistic chance they would miss the playoffs all together, a $100 ticket dipped all the way down to $15. With Milwaukee looming in Round 1, Heat bettors likely may have cashed in their tickets to save some value, and those folks are kicking themselves today.
After a historic upset, their value shot back up to where it started, and sits at $115 after beating the Knicks in the second round. As heavy dogs against Boston, Heat bettors can get out while they can, for a value of $115 in order to turn a small profit. Or, they can let it ride, and hope for another Jimmy Butler series and massive upset. If it were me, I am taking the money and getting off this Heat team before it goes to broke.
