Here are a pair of bets this terrible gambler likes in the holiday two-fer. HO! HO! HO!
Xavier Worthy OVER 2.5 rushing yards at Steelers (-113, Caesars)
Thank you, little baby Hey-Zeus for gifting the betting masses the juiciest low-hanging fruit.
This wager opened at an inexplicable 0.5 rushing yards only on BetMGM. It’s climbed every so slightly, but this is ridiculously playable, as high as 3.5 or 4.5.
“X” has marked the spot in this market consistently the last few slates. The lightning-wheeled rookie’s role as a receiver/rusher has steadily increased.
Over the last three weeks, the Chiefs wide receiver has played at least 80% of the team’s offensive snaps. Most importantly for the bet above, he’s gripped the pigskin on the ground repeatedly since Week 11 (nine attempts), cashing the OVER six times. Whether on a jet sweep or direct handoff, he’s likely to again earn what’s needed.
Keep in mind: The Steelers are an exploitable No. 26 in rush EPA defense since Week 11, allowing 103.4 rushing yards per game. With No. 1 seed thoughts front and center for Kansas City, bank on Andy Reid running a gimmick play or three with his fleet-footed youngster.
Derrick Henry UNDER 91.5 rushing yards at Texans (-115, BetMGM)
This dad bod is prepared for the pain. Similar to trying to tackle the Football Frankenstein at full speed in subzero temperatures, Henry is probably going to outright embarrass this -EV bettor.
Flying the #TeamHuevos flag with confidence, though, a subpar performance is possible.
Spectacular in gap coverage up front in recent showings, the Texans rank No. 3 in rush EPA defense since Week 12. This season, they’ve surrendered only 3.97 yards per carry and 87.6 rushing yards per game to running backs. Just three RBs have rolled their way to 92 rushing yards in a game against them.
Yes, Henry is incredibly intimidating. He’s No. 7 in YAC per attempt (3.49) and No. 2 in total missed tackles forced (64). However, the Ravens offensive line ranks a mere No. 20 in run-blocking efficiency per Pro Football Focus.
Facing a Houston front that’s often swallowed RBs whole, Henry shouldn’t blast past the above number. Admittedly, those are probably famous last words.
BONUS PARLAY — SGP+: Nico Collins 60+ receiving yards, Lamar Jackson 25+ rushing yards, Steelers +3.5 (+128, DraftKings)
