All - Please note, the reason I post the website next to the odds is that is the best number I have found with the books that I use. Shop around at your state’s books for the best of the number.
Atlanta Braves (19-10) @ Miami Marlins (16-13)
Over 7.5 (+100 BetMGM)
Reigning Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara (1-2) 5.04 ERA takes the hill for the Marlins and faces Elder (2-0) 2.17 ERA. Many would think a big name like Sandy and a low ERA out of Elder would scream an under. But the pros are on the over with 95% of the money on it but only 68% of bets signaling a wise guy discrepancy.
Sandy’s last game was against these same Braves on April 26th. He gave up 2 runs in 5.2. Eyes that just saw this pitcher may give some hitting advantage. Elder also just pitched against the Marlins giving up 4 runs in 5.1.
New York Mets (16-13) @ Detroit Tigers (10-17)
Over 8.5 (BetMGM)
The line has opened at 8 in some places and up to 9 in most books. MGM still has an 8.5 which I snagged. 83% of the money is on the over but only 29% of bets. Big pros vs joes betting split. I have no choice but to ride with the pros here. Michael Lorenzen (0-1) takes the hill for the Tigers with a 7.07 ERA coming in today. The forecast calls for winds blowing out to the left at 15mph.
Baltimore Orioles (19-9) @ KC Royals (7-22)
Under 9 (-120 BetMGM)
Orioles Moneyline (-157 BetRivers)
Right now I am seeing 84% of the money and only 47% of the tickets on the under in this matchup. The O’s send Tyler Wells (1-1) 2.79 ERA to face Ryan Yarbrough (0-3) 6.35 ERA.
The O’s have fared quite well vs lefties this year, batting .266 avg, leading the league in RBIs vs, and 2nd in home runs. Tough to not back the O’s versus the lowly Royals who are just 1-12 at home this year. The best bet here is on the Orioles, and the pros seem to think this will be a lower-scoring game.
Other notable betting splits.
Dodgers/Phillies - Under 8: 75% of handle vs 34% of bets
Padres/Reds - Under 8.5: 64% of handle vs 38% of bets
