Monday Night Football
After three straight days and nights of Football, now is not the time to call it quits. We have one more game to cap of the football extravaganza, that was this weekend. Are you ready?
The unfortunate loss of Joe Burrow takes some of the juice out of what would otherwise be a potential AFC Championship game preview. Without Burrow, the Bengals are looking ahead to next year, while the Jags continue to run teams over behind Trevor Lawrence.
Jacksonville is one of the best teams in football, and close as 10 point favorites in their first MNF appearance in over a decade. It will be up to Jake Browning to keep this game close for the road team. Luckily for him, he has the luxury of throwing the ball around to Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins who is back in the lineup tonight. The Jags have weapons of their own around their stud QB, led by Travis Etienne. The Clemson product has been one of the best backs in football this year, and has been an absolute touchdown machine.
I’m tempted to put some faith in Browning, but ultimately can’t trust him to put up enough points. I do think the 10 points is slightly too high, because the Bengals have an experienced defense, and enough talent to hang around.
With a spread this high, I like the option to tease down with the total. Taking into account a backup QB on the road, it will have to be the under. While primetime Unders have been consistently money, we are due for regression towards the mean at some point.
Let's hope it doesn't come tonight, but even if it does, the tease gives us some extra room to spare.
