Cavaliers Receive: James Harden & a 2nd-Round Pick

Clippers Receive: Darius Garland

This trade shocked a lot of people, but by Monday night, it became clear this scenario was very real. By Tuesday, it was official, with both teams sending cornerstone players across the country.

According to FanDuel, the Cavaliers’ NBA Finals odds sat at +2200 just one week ago. Following the deal, those odds have surged to +1300, signaling a major boost in perceived title equity. Harden’s addition clearly elevated Cleveland into a more serious contender tier. Meanwhile, the Clippers took a significant hit. Their title odds plummeted from +7500 to +25000, reflecting skepticism about their new direction and overall ceiling.

To add even more intrigue these two teams face off tonight in Los Angeles. Buckle up.

Celtics Receive: Nikola Vučević

Bulls Receive: Anfernee Simons & a 2nd-Round Pick

We knew the Celtics were in the market for a big man, but few expected them to make this kind of splash.

Per BetMGM, Boston’s Finals odds were +1400 a week ago and now sit at +1600. While the move didn’t trigger an immediate market jump, it signals that the Celtics still view this season as a legitimate championship window.

On the flip side, the Bulls’ odds ballooned from +50000 to +100000, a clear indication that sportsbooks see this as the beginning of the end for Chicago’s season, and possibly for Billy Donovan’s tenure as head coach.

If you ask me, the Celtics see this move as a message to Jayson Tatum: we’re still all-in. Desperately trying to intrigue Tatum back. From a futures perspective, Boston may actually hold sneaky value at this number.

Grizzlies Receive: Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang & Three 1st-Round Picks

Jazz Receive: Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale & Vince Williams Jr.

This one came completely out of left field.

While Jaren Jackson Jr. was known to be available, most expected him to land with a contender not the 16–35 Utah Jazz. Instead, both teams opted for a deal that screams long-term planning rather than immediate payoff.

According to DraftKings, Memphis sat at +20000 to win the Finals last week, while Utah was slightly behind at +25000. Post-trade, those numbers have drifted to +30000 for the Grizzlies and +40000 for the Jazz.

Translation? Sportsbooks see this as a punt on the present for both sides. Better luck next year.
