When the Books Always Seem to Win: The Giannis 19.5 Prop That Felt Scripted

Stuff like this really makes you think something might be going on behind the scenes. Giannis Antetokounmpo returned after five weeks out and had a 19.5 points prop, his lowest since 2021. He had 19 points with just under 10 minutes left in the third quarter and then somehow missed his final seven shots to finish UNDER. For a player of his caliber to not score one more point in that stretch feels almost impossible in real time.

I almost bet this, before the game I had Giannis O 19.5 in my betslip on Fanduel, but held off. I checked the score around the nine-minute mark of the third, saw he had 19, and felt like an idiot for not taking the over. Fast forward to the end of the game, and he goes under, instantly making me feel mixed emotions. I would’ve been sick if I had that ticket in. It’s one of those moments where you go from thinking you missed free money to feeling like you dodged a bullet.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been a disaster this year. Opening the season at +4500 on FanDuel to win the NBA Finals, they’ve now completely fallen off the board, sitting at +250000.

I’m not saying the NBA is rigged, but with everything that’s happened lately, it’s hard not to at least question things. From the Jontay Porter betting scandal to investigations involving Terry Rozier, and Chauncey Billups, there’s been enough smoke around the sports world that fans aren’t just blindly trusting every outcome anymore. Add in the NCAA’s ongoing probes into prop bets and potential game manipulation, and it creates an environment where people are naturally skeptical.

Thinking about placing a bet on Fanduel? New users on FanDuel can Bet $5 and get $150 in bonus bets if their first wager wins.
