The last Dinger of the Day pick was a brutal beat, but the approach stays the same, we trust the process and look to bounce back. Christian Walker hit a ball that would have been a home run in 25/30 parks. This isn’t a great weather slate by any means, but when a hitter is squaring the ball up, conditions become a lot less relevant. That brings us to today’s pick: José Ramírez.

Ramírez hasn’t had the best overall start to the season, but his splits tell a much more encouraging story. Against right-handed pitching, he’s struggled to generate quality contact with an 85.1 average exit velocity, a 0% barrel rate, and just a 36% fly ball rate. However, against left-handed pitching, those numbers jump significantly, 90.7 exit velocity, a 16.67% barrel rate, and a 60% fly ball rate, along with zero strikeouts. It’s clear he’s seeing the ball much better from the right side and producing far more dangerous contact.

He now gets a favorable matchup against Noah Cameron, who has shown vulnerability to right-handed hitters, giving up 13 home runs to them last season. Ramírez has also had success in this matchup, going 4-for-5 with a home run in his career against Cameron. With Cameron relying heavily on a fastball/changeup mix two pitches Ramírez handles extremely well this sets up as a strong opportunity.

The Pick: Jose Ramírez Home Run (+625 on Kalshi or +600 on FanDuel)
